Might be shooting a music video Just wanted some tips , the main thing is how to match the music with the video .
Should I shoot every scene with the band singing the song then edit it all together?

I did a music video, what I did, I shot with the Artist singing the song for every scene, then I layed the Music down in my NLE, and edited the clips matching the Music.

It was tough but I did it, I don't know if there's an easier way, but that worked.

I added four clicks to the beginning of the song so that I could synch up everything in post. Also, using an iPod to play the song is helpful, as you don't run the risk of skipping. Just be sure to have enough battery power to last the entire production.

As far as having the entire band playing along for each take - that is a very easy way to tire out the band. Plus, depending on the lighting you are going to be using they are going to be drenched in sweat. Be sure to have a fan and some towels to help cool them off and keep them from sweating profusely.
You will also probably want to start on close-up shots first, before they get all sweaty and worn out from the shoot.

For some shots I didn't need the entire band, so while I was just filming one member of the band, the rest of them were cooling off by the fan.
I just alternated back and forth between full band shots and single member shots.

Also, I had a particular intro and ending sequence that really didn't necessitate running through the entire song. For the intro, I just played about the first minute of the song for each member, and for the outro started the song about one minute before the ending.

You can check it out here.
