Anyone have some good production contracts or could point me to a place that has good ones? Everything online for free is crap.
 
Second that. I am working on a new production contract and would like to have it well formed before sending it to my lawyer for review.
 
Here's what I use, it's not fancy but gets the job done. I actually have an updated one, which I can't seem to find right now, but it includes exactly what will be included in the video like a porche, two blonds, pizza place and such. I also include the shoot dates to hold the artist responsible for my financial losses if they don't show up or anything like that.

PRODUCTION CONTRACT

1. The Purpose of this document is to establish a contract between YOUR NAME, hereinafter referred to as PRODUCER, and CLIENT: CLIENT NAME hereinafter referred to as CLIENT for the production of the music video titled “SONG TITLE”, hereinafter referred to as the PROJECT.
2. PRODUCER offers to produce the PROJECT for CLIENT in exchange for valuable consideration as specified in Paragraph 6 below.
3. DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT: The purpose of the PROJECT is for World Wide Web viewing and television network showings. No other use of the project is anticipated, nor have terms of consideration been agreed upon to for any but the use specified herein.
4. PRODUCER insures to provide a finished version of the PROJECT to the CLIENT within a reasonable time frame.
5. PRODUCER insures to provide the finished version of the PROJECT to the CLIENT in the fashion of:
[a] Four authored DVD copies
Two data DVD copies containing: one large web QuickTime version, one small web QuickTime verison, one iPod version
6. The grand total of the production budget for PROJECT approved by the CLIENT is Amount (US): $xxxx as this is work for hire. CLIENT also agrees to allow PRODUCER full rights and permissions, not for profit, to display PROJECT in whatever media outlet deemed necessary such as DVD, network, world wide web, showcase.
This grand total is payable as follows:
[a] 60% deposit to confirm project
30% upon script approval
[c] Balance upon delivery to CLIENT of the finished project.
7. There are no other agreements or codicils relative to this PROJECT between either of the CLIENT and PRODUCER hereto either verbally or in writing and this document constitutes the entirety of the contract.

I have read, understand and agree with every provision of this contract and by my signature, hereby certify that I accept and agree to abide by them and that I am competent and legally qualified to enter in to such a contract.

That's until you have a band that doesn't pay you. Been there and it sucks ! I wish every band was as loyal as they seem, but that would be too easy !
