Since this is read by people all over the world I thought some of you might have a suggestion. We just wrapped a music video today. The band is signed to small label and has put out three Cd's thus far. Small labels arent gong to get on MTV but perhaps they would on smaller or local video shows or channels. If you are aware of a local music video show or network please let me know. After we cut the video if its as good as we think the footage indicates then i want to push it forward into some outlets. Thanks for any help i may receive.

I think of it as college crowd music. The artist may or may not agree with that but i liken it to the style of a hootie and the blowfish. i realize that is on old reference but its not hard rock, its not bubble gum pop/dance either. She is singer songwriter with guitar, bass, drum backup.

See if you can order a FREE copy of the CVC REPORT. If they still offer it, they will send a complimentary FREE issue however to subscribe to it, will run you like $150 a month or something crazy like that. Its a magazine type publication that gets updated every month and has listings, contact info, etc of various networks, cable channels, etc that you can submit your material to. All kinds of Video Shows, info about record labels, all kind of stuff in there. I might try to get another free issue. I was living in a different state when I got mine several years ago.

Oooops! I just looked at their website www.cvcreport.com and noticed they stopped production of the magazine back in December 2004! You can still order back issues from them. I am not sure if another publication like this exists.

angrius, yes i saw much musci and read the submissions. we are working on that now. being from fl i am not sure what the lanscape of their typical music line up looks like but they seem to worth a shot. thansk again.

DVX shooter. that looked like it may have been a great resource too bad it has stopped producing. i wonder if their is another publication similar to it?

I'm from Canada and can sort of break it down for you..they're basically like MTV in the States..only better. There are more formats and opertunities to get in with them. Go for it. I used to work in the music video industry in Toronto and have seen a lot of videos get play on their station. Good luck.

There are a ton of Music Video shows on the local level. The key is to find them! You may have to do a google search for them since that book is not published anymore.

I see that on the site first they say is: Betacam (oxide, metal or digital) is accepted. This means that the video has to be on a Betacam tape? Instead of being at least shot on Betacam :<. I'm about to shoot a video on HVX200 (HD) and the main purpose is to submit it to MTV, Launch.com, etc.

BTW, What's oxide, metal, digital? what do they mean?
