I just receive footage from a music video and made a mistake shooting slowmotion. The camera frame rate was at 36fps and the playback of the music was at 32fps. How can i fix that in post so everything is sync??

thanks

Was it supposed to be slowed down? What is your ultimate frame rate?

You could "conform to" in Cinema Tools... This will take each frame and conform what ever number (23.98 or 29.97) of frames you want per second... resulting in slow motion.

I think we need some more information. What format is this? What was it shot at? What is it supposed to look like?

Its dvcpro hd 720pn. they shot at a frame rate of 36 for slowmotion but the playback for the band was off, it was at 32 i think. So now in my 24p timeline, the lips of the guys doesnt match the music. Is it more clear??

Oh -- ugh.

You're gonna have to do some creative remapping. Motion, Compressor and Shake use Adaptive ReTiming... IOW - will 'create' frames rather than blur frames together to create slow motion.

Might be your only bet to just experiment until it gets close.

Ugh.

but what i can understand about my footage is that its too slow for the playback, i have to make it faster?? The footage is already slowmotion but too slow.

Ok... here's a suggestion.

Lay down your audio. Find a spot in the audio where you will have a clear start and a clear stop... not too long... 10 seconds or so.

Set an IN and an OUT on the timeline.

Then - go back to the video loaded in your viewer. Find those same IN and OUT points - don't worry that the time won't be the same (10 seconds - or whatever).

Set the in and out. THEN -- drag the clip from the viewer into the canvas and then onto the overlay for FIT TO FILL.

This should force the speed to match. If it works good... then just extend the clips to fit the audio - export it as a QT Movie and reimport.

Then you'll have all your clips be sync'd.

Huge wag in the dark... but might be worth a try.

Good luck,

what setting should i use in motion to accelerate my clips??I know its in timing, i entered the % of speed that i want (112.5%) but in the frame blending option what is the best one to choose so i dont have some blurring in my video?? Im really new to motion!!

In final cut pro there's a tab called motion just click motion blur and it'll get rid of blurring. But before you click it you might want to adjust the percentage to your taste and oh I hope you don't have to do the entire video it'll take hours if not days to render the whole thing.
