Music Video - Any tips?

I am a 17-year old guy who wants to give a try to music video production. Recently I have made a music video for a school assignment which is currently still in post-production. Does anyone has some extra tips about making music videos?

(Sorry for my weak English, I'm from the Netherlands.)

It just depends on what you are trying to do. I would say, as with any shoot, make sure you know what your shooting before you get lots of people dragged in.
Decide weather you want to shoot it as a story set to music, or a bunch of band shots, or abstract ideas influenced by the music.
Just some thoughts.

My biggest tip, on band or artist performance shots, always run through the entire song on each set up. You may think you are only going to use this one part, or just the chorus, and that doing the whole thing is a waste of time, but when you're in the editing room you'll kick yourself for not having the footage.

90% planning, 10% doing. Get lots of coverage. Get lots of angles so you can keep things fast paced. The visuals have to do the talking, so your shots need to be even more creative and interesting than they would need to be if you were making a short film. Have the band practice matching to the recording so they are in perfect sync and you don't waste production time.
