Music score doesn't sit will with 24fps project

I have a feature film shot in 24fps, so my project in Premiere Pro 2.0 is set for 23.976. I just got a hold of the music for the film, in mp3 format. The length of the music clip is 1hr 15m 17s, but when I drop it into the timeline, 4 seconds mysteriously vanish from it, making it 1hr, 15m 13s.

I've never had this issue before, but I've never run a 24fps project before - it was always 29.97 projects. Music would match up just fine there, but for some reason, it's not in a 23.976 project. So to test it, I made a 29.97 project and the music clip works just fine in there.

I've tried interpreting the music clip, changing it to 24fps, but you can't change the framerate on audio clips.

I've tried cutting and rearranging the music clip to MAKE it play where I want it, but it's not a difference of placement, it's a frame difference between the video footage of the feature and the music clip.

PLEASE someone help. I'm in the third trimester of this issue raping my very soul and I can't stand it anymore. How do I make this music clip coexist with my film (and it's not just some music clip, it's the film's entire score, so I need to fix this) in the film's 24fps project?

if the clips speed for some reson is simply not mathing up with its actual duration and causing it to run a little short you can always just use the rate stretch tool and strecth it out the 4 seconds its been sped up. should take you 3 seconds.

..not sure why its not aligning properly.. could be one of many things, but the shortcut to not figuring out how to get it to work on its own would just be to strecth it back to its original duration. 4 seconds out of 1:15 is like a 1/1125th change in speed so theres no audible difference as far as the audio will sound.

Thank you so much for replying, I appreciate it, I'll check this rate stretch tool and see if it'll do the trick. Out of curiousity, where on the interface would I find the tool?

in the tools panel/window. also you might want to check your drop frame vs non-drop frame on the two projects if your using a video synch and going by frame numbers. that could cause a synch drift over longer periods of time if your dropping on one and not on the other. just a second thought.
