music licensing

I shot a short film and i have a song playing at the end, the song itself is not very popular (jazz) and was wondering how much would I be expecting to pay for permission to play the song during the credits.

Make sure it us for both publishing and performance rights. Sound like you may only have one of them.

Technically it's called the sync and master license that you need, as discussed in this thread:

Typically, a published would issue sync but not master. You can't be sure these days, so make sure you've got both phrases in print!
