I am about a month away from wrapping up the final stages of editing/DVD authoring for my first commercial documentary, and I'm wondering about the chances of getting some commercial music licensed.
I'm mostly going after smaller-tier artists (only commercially) and deep, deep album cuts at that. There are some indie artists, and also some bigger ones.
I suspect this will be a very limited release, maybe 1,000 copies or so and then exhibition. Is there a flat fee or a particular set of deal terms that are common to indie filmmakers?
