Music filters

Okay, here's what I want to do:

A guy enters a house and he hears techno music playing from within the house, and as he gets closer, the sound of the music becomes less muffled, and when he finally gets to the room, it's playing clear as day (but still has that sound that it's coming from within a room)

I used to use the reverb effect for this in Ulead, and it worked quite well. It used a Direct X reverb filter called I3DL2Reverb. The reverb effect isn't so good in Vegas, or I'm just not using it correctly.

Okay, my question is: How can I install Direct X audio effects into Vegas?

If you can't do this, how can I get a good audio effect in Vegas like this?

Another question: how can I event track it, so I can make it fade into sounding more like it is coming closer and closer? I couldn't do this with Ulead, but I think it's possible in Vegas, although I don't know.

If you can't describe it to me, send me a project file that already has this one, and I'll figure it out myself from there. My e-mail is bruce_guido@yahoo.com

Re: Music filters

To apply FX over time, open the FX dialog by clicking on the FX icon on the track header, then click on the upper right Configure FX Automation icon.

After checking which FX you want an envelope for, they will appear on the track and you can adjust them to your heart's (sor should that be ear's) content.
