music and sfx for noir movie

I'm looking for loyalty free sfx (shots, punches, etc.) and music (something like pursuits, ambushes, dramatic jazz music, etc) for a no-budget noir short. Sfx and music should be "old-stilish"...
Any suggestion?

Unlike music pretty much all FX are "royalty free", but you have to buy them in the first place, usually. There is a site called frreesound that is sort of an open scource sound site. They may have something. For punches I would just record them, it's fun and pretty easy.

could you tell me the exact address of the website? I couldn't find it!
And for punches? How could I record them? Main character is my father, should I punch him? :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Only if you can outrun him afterwards. Seriously, there's plenty of ways to record satisfying punches without damaging family members or studio interns. Some of the most realistic/painful body hits can be made by beating the daylights out of a large piece of meat (like one of those huge hams, just watch out for jagged bones). For additional bass, try wrapping a telephone book in gaffer tape and bashing it with a leather mallet. A sharp smack can be done by hitting a thick neoprene flutter-board with a leather riding crop. If you want to add some broken ribs, wrap uncooked rigatonni in a damp dish towel and crush it. Use your imagination and layer the various elements and textures to get the hit you're after.

Whooshes add a lot of impact to hits. You can swing just about anything in front of the mic. Sticks and wire work well. Hitting pillows or large cushions will also produce some of the duller hits.
