Multiple Video Mattes Tutorial

Good one Capt. I liked that one shows you using two different programs to make it work. It would be cool if you did some more on the comp modes..

Your videos quickly show things I wouldn't be able to put together. Like composite muliply> from the name I had no idea it would make the white transparent. I had tried the photoshop thing and brought it into FCP but could never get the white to show thru. I understand the alpha channel idea but wasn't white supposed to be automaticly the alpha channel? How do you make another color the alpha channel? Or can you?
 
Well -- I think what I'd do there is use a chromakey for any other color.

If you bring it in from Photoshop with the Alpha - or even using white as Alpha, it's a bit counter-thought... you have to think street painting...

v3 - Paint
v2 - Stencil
v1 - Street

Then you set your v3 track to Travel Matte Alpha.

Yeah or like an effects wipe. Like the kind that come with the editors tool kit from digital juice. Or you can make using motion and after effects. Dealing with changing the alpha channels and reviling different video tracks.
