MULTIPLE TIMECODE BREAKS

Hey guys,
I have 11, that's right, 11 tapes, most full, with multiple timecode breaks. I'm saving my capture scratch directly to a 160gb LaCie d2 harddrive. There are tons of timecode breaks. We should have striped the tapes, but it was overlooked. I'd love to be able to just capture the entire contents of the tapes, so what can I do? In my user preferences I have marked "make new clip" for the timecode break option. It seems like when it hits a break, it looks like its stuck working. Will it continue through as the manual suggests? Please help, I'm at a loss. Thanks-Mike

Re: MULTIPLE TIMECODE BREAKS

I also tend to get a fair amount of time code breaks... I find leaving teh camera on between shots reduces the breaks (but it eats batteries faster)

FCP can ussually can get through it... but it takes time to find the break, and then recue the tape so there are no lost frames when it picks up to begin the second clip.

I ussually manually over ride it, and just alloe for the first few seconds of the head of the second shot to be lost...

I find it annoying to wait for it to try and save every frame of the head of a shot I know I don't need.

Re: MULTIPLE TIMECODE BREAKS

Let me ask you something, if the time code break is significant enough, is there a chance that it will skip some data all together. I think that I'm missing clips. Maybe I should just do this manually. Thanks- Mike
