Multiple Matte's on One layer

Hey gang, I have a key with some trouble spots. I've dropped the footage on another layer above the key layer, then drawn a matte for one of the trouble spots- the issue is that there are others (all stationary). Do I have to put a new layer for each one and draw a new matte, or can they all be on the one foreground layer?

There's no reason to duplicate the footage, you can draw multiple masks on one layer. Are you trying to use track mattes?

I just figured it out and came back to kill this post- I'm hacking my way into this program via blunt force =)

tomorrow I'm going to teach myself how to move 3d objects =)

My tip for doing 3D is to use a 3D Null Object like Andrew Kramer suggests with the camera parented to it. Way easier than trying to keep track of the Point of Interest and Position for animating the camera.
