Multiclip editing glitch

I'm having a problem making multiclips in FCP 6. I had to bring in my audio from DVD (isolated tracks) because the sound on the DVC-Pro tapes sucked (bad mix). I brought it in after the tapes were already dig'd in by pairing up the sound cilps and video clips and using the Merge option. The problem is that now I can't make Multiclips using those clips. When I try to make them, the end up being 5 seconds long, with no video.

Any advice would help.

I have never done a merge option, only linked audio with video via option+L.

Here is what I normally do: sync all cameras on a time line stacked on top of one another (via in points). Then drag them into a bin on the file browser and ctrl+clik them, selecting 'make multiclip'.

After choosing to sync the multiclip based on 'in points', edit it to the time line. Finally, line up the sync sound on A7/A8. Audio on tracks A1-A4 can be disabled and the multiclip is always synced up to the imported audio tracks.

If you can't find your answer, you can always try it this way.
