I recently shot a concert with 4 cameras. 1 HVX in 10801 and three FX1 shot in HDV.
I would like to eidt in FCP 6 using the multiclip function. Please help with the following:
1. Would you convert the HVX footage to HDV? and call it a day.
2. If so is compressor better than Quicktime as far as conversion, settings?
3. Is is worth using a hardware conversion (AJA i/o )to upconvert HDV to DVCpro HD.
4. IS there another way of doing this without extra hardware?
5. The final output is to DVD. We took our time and carefully matched the cameras as best as possible so I anticipate little if any color correction realizing the limitations of the HDV format.
I would love to hear from any event, concert shooters who cannot afford to always have matched cameras.
