This isn't exactly right but I saw some where on the net that you set that transition to your defaut transition then highlight the clips that you want to apply the transition to and drag them in to the canvas over lay window and let go over "overwrite with transitions". This should overwrite what is on the timeline with the same footage but it just puts transitions in between the clips.
I tried this method but couldn't quite get it to work I am sure I was doing something simple wrong. Hope this helps! A question I have is how do I remove 1 effect that was added to multiple clips?
