Multi Channel Recording

Hey her is a situation. You need to do an interview with 3-4 people. You have 3 lavs and 1 shotgun to plug in to your mixer. You will connect to your pc/laptop/mac and record double system.

I wonder if it is possible to record multiple channels of audio without having a dedicated 4 track recorder? I am refering to using a laptop as the recorder and lets say a firewire or usb mixer like Alesis, Tascam, etc.? Just curious if this would work for this situation. :)
 
Yep, it works really well with a product called Boom Recorder. BR was designed for multi-track iso production recording, and it works great. I've used it on several projects with great success.
