Multi-camera shoot problems

HI, I did a multi-camera shoot. I'm pretty new at this, so maybe someone out there can help.

I shot with 2 DVX 100's and everything from those camera's is just easy... Capture was a breeze, everything is 23.98 and I'm happy. I also had a PD-150 filming. All is well.. I just converted the footage to 23.98. But one of the cameramen used a XL-2. He said he shot 24... but everything is showing up 29 and there is no sound. SO.... is this a problem with the XL-2 that happens when capturing or did this camera operator really screw up this bad. I suspect the cameraman... since he also kept stopping his camera during the event.

So the question is... Do you know if I could be doing something wrong capturing the XL-2 footage. I'm capturing just like I did the DVX footage. I thought maybe there's something I need to know about the Canon when capturing.

Thanks...:undecided

I haven't used a Canon XL-2 but I assume it has some sort of playback mode. If you play back on that, do you hear sound?

HI Blaine,
after the event, I collected all of the tapes. So I don't have excess to the XL-2. (The owner of the XL-2 lives hours away.) I'm using my DVX to play back all the tapes... for log and capture into FCP.

I trusted everyone to follow pretty simple guidelines.... shoot 24, never stop the cameras and to be sure the audio had decent levels. ( Even the Sony PD 150 was killer because the guy operating it was really good... except it's 60i, so it looks like 60i. I converted it with Nattress and it looks better. DVX's were great too except for some of the lower light situations. (Concert) I also recorded audio on a multitrack out of the board.

Seems like with as much experience there is on this forum somebody might know about the issues I'm experiencing.
