Multi-cam for live concert coverage -- Using more than four cameras.

Hi all,

I'm shooting a live concert in a month, and I have five, possibly six, camera ops lined up for it. Given the limitation in PPCS5.5 of four camera angles in a multicam sequence, my tentative plan is to have the four steadi/handheld ops in a multicam timeline. I will cut that as normal, and drop clips from my two wide-angle cameras over top of the multicam sequence inside a parent sequence.

This is my first multicam project with more than four angles, so I'm throwing it out there... Do you folks have any suggestions on how I can improve this workflow/save myself some headaches? Thanks so much,

Paul

I think I would plan to include one of the fixed wide cameras in the multi cam edit.

This camera would be the Master Shot that runs continuously. It gives you the reference point at any time.

You may be able to use its timecode when you come to cut in the "wild cameras" after you complete the multicam.

Personally I just manually sync all cameras and then begin cutting on the timeline... sure it takes time but I feel it gives greater control than the multicam "method".
