Mr. "I'm King of the World", Prophecies'

I think this process actually puts more control in the director and cinematographer's hands, since they'd be able to direct virtual actors and assets in real-time. Surely a good thing.
Surely a good thing?

Not really. The problem with a lot of green screen movies and CGI effects is that some directors can't handle that amount of control.
Giving them more will only make it worse.

If Stanley Kubrick was still alive and making films, this would be interesting. He's the only one who got better the more control he had.

Sounds cool, but

I pay so much more attention to the embracing of technological progress in the Nolan-Pfister camp than I do the Cameron-(oh-wait-he-does-everything-because-his-ego-is-Titanic) camp.

What Nolan and Pfister are doing with HD and IMAX technology is far more interesting to me because that is where cinema is now. When digital camcorders equal or outdo the beloved IMAX resolution, Nolan will be able to do even more. Right now, a big hangup with IMAX 65mm cameras is that they are loud and huge, so their shots are limited.

Cameron being able to execute a bland script on set with little time spent in post-production speaks more to his egomania than his vision, if you ask me. And I really just don't like the guy.
