mpg not mpg2

hey guys, im having problems with ae which havent happend before. i want to export a comp as an mpeg (just like premiere) but in my options i only see mpg2 and when i click render i get all kinds of errors, output module doesnt fit transcode settings. its a standard ntsc dv 720x480. what gives. thanks
 
Render out as lossless quicktime (animation codec) or lossless avi and then convert it using something else. AE is notorious for being not so great at rendering anything but lossless codecs. I used to try to render out web sized stuff straight from AE but it would take 4+ times longer than my uncompressed renders.
 
i do have full quality quicktime files. the reason for AE is i am using digital juice, and i need to render out the files as mpegs to be used. and AE has the render que. Any other thoughts for this later
