When I drop an mpeg onto my timeline I lose frames and what not. It doesn't play as it should play (even when I export the timeline). I lose frames. I've tried as mnay possible presets and custom project settings that I can see but it keeps giving me a flickery output when I try to edit any normal mpegs or avis and what not. I'm pretty new to adobe premier so I'm bewildered with why the picture is flickering through frames and skipping nearly half of them. I'd appreciate it if anybody can help and pardon my ignorance with premier.

Iv just started using premiere 6 and am having the same problems...I know this comment doesnt really help but its nice to know youre not the only one.

Premiere Pro is not an mpeg editor because mpeg is not an "editing format" ( It is a delivery format and uses temporal compression)

Convert your mpeg to an avi first and all will be sweet..
