HI guys,
nice to be here in this FCP community.
Please help about this.
I have Mac Pro Quad with FCP2, AE, and CInema 4d. All original.
I ve got Mpeg2 PAL 720x576 25fps footage from pc(canopus) and when i try to start it there was no sound and my quicktime and FCP look it as 704x520 and 30fps???
Could somebody please help me i am desperate becaose this stuff is going on tv and i need to export it again in this mpeg2 format.
What should i do when i get this mpeg footage?
Is there any codec in FCP2 that supports this?
What is the best process handling with this ffotage if you use AE and FCP2?

Please, Thanks :crybaby:

What is the extension at the end of your file? If it is .m2v, then it has no audio, as .m2v files usually have a separate .aif or .ac2 file for audio. If you name the .m2v and .aif file the same (except the extension), most programs will find the audio when you open the .m2v and play them together. I'd do this, open it in a program like Mpeg Streamclip (free), and convert it into an mpeg program stream (which has a .mpeg extension) and which merges the audio and video into one file. Or convert it into a more FCP friendly Quicktime codec like DV-NTSC, or Uncompressed. Generally it's not a good idea to edit in MPEG as it is a GOP codec which compresses across multiple frames.

Thank you, somebody noticed me....
I have checked again it is file.mpg when i get info form it. Do you think that i first convert it to DV and than work on it and than export it as mpeg2 again? My problem is only again why is this file on PC canopus 720x576 25fps and on MAC FCP2 704x528 30fps? And one more thing when i import into FCP2 it has this two black line/borders on side it looks like it has lost 4px on each side...sorrry i mean if anybody could try to explain me this process of maybe aspect ratio or....?

Thanks

Thanks i will do that.
Does anyboy have any experiences with PC to apple codecs...and maybe what is proper workflow for PC to MAC back to PC....

Thanks
