I am not sure how to ask this question but I'm trying to make MPEG1 videos. Doesn't FCP have MPEG 1 features?
or what do I have to do to get MPEG out of QUICKTIME?

I have quicktime Pro as well.

Use Compressor, it has MPEG1 settings.

sorry, i just checked, there is no mpeg 1 on compressor. thought something wasn't right... anyone?

Compressor should have two MPEG1 presets:

MPEG1 Web & MPEG1 DVD.

If you don't see those, then just create a new MPEG1 preset from scratch... it is quite simple.

If you don't have that option... perhaps you need to install the MPEG2 QT Component? or maybe you don't have Quicktime Pro?

Anyone have a way to go from Final Cut Pro to MPEG 1 at 640x480 frame size? In compressor it seems to stop at 320x240 or something. I also cannot find a way to do it in mpeg streamclip. the demux settings are greyed out when using a .mov file. thanks
