Mpeg to mov help

Hey guys,

Been searching but can't find a good method here.

I have an Old Sony Cybershot camera I've been using to record my stand up routine. I want to edit the little mpeg videos down but am having difficulty.

When converting in compressor it loses the audio but the quality is OK. When converting in mpeg streamclip the audio is there but it's VERY pixilated.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Try demuxing the streams and converting them individually. Can FCP edit an Mpeg-1 stream? It should be able to. That Mpeg-II audio is a little tricky as not a lot of software really supported it. You could probablly convert that to PCM and then edit that.

(I'm totally guessing the codecs being used)

Ya, I just figured a way.

I exported the audio only in mpeg streamclip, then added it to the timeline in FCP. Since FCP won't recognize the audio just the video from the master.

Thanks Demistate for replying.
