MPEG Streamclip broken, lost MPEG 2 support

I recently migrated to two new Mac Pros from the one's they were replacing via Apple OSX's migration assistant during setup.

Just this morning, I was informed that one of our new editors were getting the "Apple QuickTime MPEG2-Playback Component not installed" message when trying to convert a DVD though MPEGStreamclip 1.9.2. Sure enough, I got the same result on the 2nd new Mac Pro. A third, "older" Mac Pro opens the DVD files no problem, ruling out the recent 7.6.2 QuickTime update as the cause.

I checked the System HD>Library>QuckTime folder for the AppleMPEG2codec.component. Sure enough, it was there as it should be.

Trashed MPEG's preference file. Deleted MPEG & re-downloaded a fresh copy, installing that. Still no go. Tried the 1.9.3beta. Same result.

Redownloaded & installed Perian 1.1.3 ( though I don't think it's related to the problem ) Still no fix.

Replaced the MPEG2.component with the one from the working Mac Pro. Still no go.

I'm thinking my next step would be trying to re-install FCS2, even though everything else seems to be working fine. But I can't think of what else I might be missing here. Any thoughts?

One of Murphy's law's it seems. I spend hours trying to figure this out. And as soon as I post the question, I discover the source of the problem while comparing folders of the old tower and the new tower.

The codec in question actually resides in - System HD>system>library>quicktime>QuickTimeMPEG2.component

Somehow that file never made it though the software migration. I replaced the missing codec and MPEGStreamclip fired back up. All is happy.
