Mpeg looks overexposed - some help please :)

I don't really have a solution, but when I ever encode with h.264 from the quicktime player on a PC I get a washed out image. So now I encode my h.264 files in Premiere, which works a lot better.

Maybe try to encode it using something different?

google up "quicktime gamma shift" for more info on qt issues.

the thread link says that you are on vegas(?), which only runs on a pc... what media player are you viewing the mpeg files on? hopefully it's not the qt player with the gamma shift issues?

Thank you so much for your replies! My deadline is coming up, so any help at all is great!

I'm on Vegas, I've been using the raylight plugin to edit the MXF files. I've tried viewing the mpegs in VLC good old windows media player and qt, in VLC it looks the worst, wmp is better, but no good, qt is just the way I want it. I haven't tried it in a dvd player yet.

I'll try googleing gamma shift, hopefully it solves my problem.

Thanks again!!
