Mpeg-2 Dilemma

Ok, so now that I have asked a million questions about exporting 24p timeline to a file ready for DVD authoring, I have a problem with the export

I cant find anyway to Convert my timeline to MPEG-2

When I go to File > Export > these are my options
- Quicktime Movie
-Compressor ***(This option cannot be selected
-Using Quicktime Converter

My Compressor program used to work, but for some reason, not anymore, I cant drag a file and drop it in, and i cant open it, I also cant select it as an export option in FCP4

So instead of that I tried "Using Quicktime Converter"
-when I use this, I wil go to Options so I can set the frame rate and MPEG-2
On the top of the Video Compression Settings is where you can select Compression Type, but in that selection there is only MPEG-4 and alot of codecs, but no MPEG-2

Please Help, I am so close to finishing this Video and printing it to DVD

I need to know either how to get my compressor prog to work again, or to get the MPEG-2 Codec as an option on my "Quicktime Conversion" option

Any help will be grately appreciated

Make sure to select a sequence in your bin to convert.

Do you have DVD Studio Pro? As I recall this comes with the MPEG-2 codec for QuickTime.
Have you updated your system or apps recently? You may have to re-install them.
Try running Disk Utility - Repair permissions first.

I dont beleieve it will work, only because these progs arent exactly strait from the store, if you know what I mean, so im sure there not the full versions, I was hoping there was just some way to get a MPEG-2 codec, and throw it in a preference so that it came up on as an option in Export compression settings

If I happen to export the video file as a quiktime movie at 23.98 and then import thte file into DSP3, Can I compress the video file to MPEG2 - as opposed to converting it strait from FCP and importing it into DSP3, is there any differendce in quality if I did this?

It will convert to MPEG but will make it 29.97 according the the help manual. You might consider getting a real copy at some point.

I guess I will have to get a real copy of FCP, since I beleive it came with compressor, unless there is a site out there that has a free download for it, like possibly apple.com
