I'm trying to import ( Vegas 7 ) some footage in HD at 1280x720 at 60 frames.
the format according to QT and VLC player is MP4 AVC.
Yet I cannot import this footage or any other clip that was recorded
This footage was recorded on a cheap camera and downloaded into my computer .
I tried also to export with QT but cannot do so.
and yet all the clips play just fine while watching on QT or VLC.
I'm stumped..any ideas?
Thanks
Ian

I welcome arielman
And if to analyze MediaInfo to what it will give out the analysis result?
Probably that in system there is no suitable codec...
For this purpose I use GSpot270a

I apologise for machine translation

It probably has to do with Vegas 7's inability to access the most recent versions of Quicktime. I don't recall exactly which QT version where this became a problem, but certainly if you've updated Quicktime over the last several months, you're on a higher version than V7 can use.

Nero + Vegas products are difficultly compatible from for not cleanliness of the first!
I have noticed for a long time destructive influence of the first product on the second and have completely excluded on the personal computer Nero!
That dirt that brings in system Nero you cannot separate!
If you wish использавать Nero further that Vegas you is not necessary!
Nero has no correct-thin options of the coder and integrates into system a heap of a dirt to processing stirring video!
As on carriers I use alternative of record Ashampoo Burning Studio 9 which is established very purely, without superfluous codecs in and filters and only for record of files and folders!
For record and autoring DVD I use DVD Architect Pro 5.0
Sony Vegas Pro 9.0е (10.0c) the professional product also demands the professional approach and use!
I tell it because after installation Nero you will have problems though probably and execute the purpose!

I tried some of the free converters and many will not recognize the MP4..But this one did and ( Alldj Video Converter ) I converted to MPEG..I Imported the MPEG into Vegas 7..looks great !!

If your purpose, is - any way to achieve result this action is logical!
But, in this section Vegas discuss the approach to a problem without loss qualities (minimum) that is necessary for correct further work with a material
The matter is that many programs contain filter set in the package and codec which can repeat in system and create the conflict that will lead not to steady work Vegas
If correct work in Vegas not a main objective with a material it is possible to apply to amateur work AVS Video Editor it doesn't bring in system pernicious for Vegas containers!
But, it as contains interesting and competent possibilities of options and formats of multimedia!
In other, David Jimerson has specified you the reason of your problem, it is necessary to penetrate only.

Any result it too result!
