Yippee! Yahoo! Yeehaa! Other Y words!

Anyone know anything about the Killeen area? That's where I'm going, working for Fort Hood.

Gotta buy a house. And land. And a horse. And all sorts of stuff.

Finally getting the hell outa this place.

There is a Central Texas Videographers Group, one of the organizers is in Killeen. Mostly event types, weddings, etc. PM me when you hit town, and I'll dig up the e-mail.

Dahlin' - you're going to Texas, it's all good. I'm from there, Big D (Dallas), just learn to say the word: fixin' when you're going to do something like:

Fixin' to go to the store.
Fixin' to have some dinner.
Fixin' to ask that girl out.

You also must learn to say, ya'll and yes, we say ya'll all the time. Buy a pair of Ropers, round-toed boots, you'll fit in just fine. Oh, and you'll die in the heat, so be glad you're going in the fall.

Woah....nice.

The smallest house in the city just went up for sale again...
300 sq feet for $180 000.

I reckon I'm fixin' to head down to Texas.

It was picked for me. :)

My options were

1) accept the job offer.
2) quit, and move back in with my Mother.

While I wouldn't necessarily have chosen Killeen, Texas was on my list of acceptable areas.

It could have been a LOT worse. California just got tossed into the mix, and DC would be tossed in in about 3 months, along with those cold States up north. (Weird Gov program for moving employees...)

Whew. Dodged those bullets.

My brother-in-law was stationed at Ft. Hood back in the day. The day being the early 90s. I believe the Texas Chainsaw Massacre house is around those parts -- he and his squadron broke into it one night. Were they drunk? Uhhh, duh. Anyway, welcome to Texas. We can use another body to absorb the heat.
