Moving or adjusting the frame

I have not been able to figure this out in vegas before and I usually end up doing some work around that I cant even remember at the moment. I use both vegas and FCP. On final cut in the canvas area I can adjust the frame very easily. I can rotate, expand, shrink and move the image and place it anywhere I want on the screen in a matter of seconds. I want to be able to do this with Vegas. Im not talking about keyframing in FCP, Im talking about the canvas area where I can adjust the frame. Am I missing something on Vegas that will allow me to do this?
I can shrink the screen and move it around but what if I want to do vertical split screen?

Thanks for your help. I was hoping I wouldn't have to use that since you still have to key frame with that along that track but oh well.

You have to keyframe if you move it within the video (and I can't imagine FCP being any different in that regard -- how else could you do it?). But you don't if you just set it and go. And you never have to set keyframes manually; setting the position automatically creates them.
