moving clips from sequence to sequence

I'm having a strange issue, at least, strange to me. whenever I move a clip from one sequence in the timeline to another sequence, the canvas displays the clip very small. it doesn't take up half of the black box that evidently is the background. I tried exporting the clip to make sure the final product's aspect ratio didn't change, and it wasn't. the small image inside a big black box is the finished product when I exported and this worries me greatly. strangely, it only appears to change aspect ratios when I move from a specific sequence to the sequence of which I'm doing a rough edit and not from any other sequences. does anyone know what I can do to fix this or how I can avoid having this issue? it's of great importance.

Do your sequences have the same settings? And make sure each sequence has the same codec settings. It's possible if you've create a sequence after you started the original sequence that they have different settings...

Also check your clip's motion properties - check the scale. And then go to the Distort and see if any of it got distorted for whatever reason.
