Movies set in 2 different time eras

Hey guys,

Can you think of any movies set within 2 different time eras that are NOT about time travel?

eg. HIGHLANDER was set in medieval times as well as present day.

Are there any "more serious" films set in present day and also in the past?

Wasn't Highlander flashbacks as well (not seen that in a long time - but seem to remember there are flashbacks too - maybe wrong?).

At least it doesn't have time travel

Flashback narratives per se would make for a very long list. :beer:

I guess I should clarify a little. I'm talking about a BIG gap in time era, longer than a human lifetime. I'm really interested in a certain controversial historical event, and was thinking of writing a screenplay based on it, between someone investigating it in the present day (like a courtroom drama/mystery type thing) and cutting back and forward to the time era (for example, the Renaissance).

I can't really think of any movies that do this, however, so I'm not sure if it would work.

Arcadia is a play, but does this... there are other things too, but my brain's not working well... the book "everything is illuminated" did this, but I think the movie cut most or all of one timeline out... in my mind is some kind of archeological movie... what was it?

I think the concept is certainly doable.

That's definitely the sort of thing, although the present day scenes are only about 10% of the movie. I'm after more of a 50-50 split.

Imagine if THE DA VINCI CODE cut equally between Robert Langdon investigating the secrets hidden in DaVinci's paintings in the present, and the character of DaVinci during the Renaissance.
