I am excited to let everyone know about MoviePoet.com

MoviePoet.com is a labor of a love. It is a website I created (many years ago) and have now relaunched. It features a monthly short script competition (5 pages or less).

Our goal is three-fold:

  • Help writers improve their craft
  • Celebrate our best work
  • Connect writers and their scripts with filmmakers
Our first contest is underway now. I hope you have a minute to check it out and hopefully choose to participate as well.

p.s. I should add, I owe much of my inspiration for this site to DVXUser and Jarred Land. I can't begin to thank the community enough for all I've learned and all the support I've been given. Hopefully, MoviePoet.com is a way of saying thanks and giving back to the community.
 
Hi Chris, I have followed many of your discussions online on this forum and have benefited a lot but never took the time to go through your site. I did that today and must say that I am very impressed. I like the craniological list of your films. It sort of gives a glimpse of the OSF's evaluation as a film company.

Looking forward to more great stuff coming from MoviePoet.

I agree. Lot of times you might have a really good idea in your head but still to come up with a script which is as good as the idea itself is the challenge.
As a matter of fact I have a script that I wrote for Dramafest but because of the timing I will not be able to submit. I know that its a good story with a hook but somehow i am not happy with the script so far. Will continue to develop it. Its going to be my maiden venture so I would rather take more time to come out with a really good script then to hurry up and come up with a mediocre one.

May be I should send it to you and you can give a thumbs up or down.
