Running Movie Studio 12 64 bit. I uninstalled my older VMS10 and am now getting the stopped working message at the splash screen. If I wait a bit Movie Studio 12 build 896 64 bit it starts and works perfectly as long as I don't close the error message screen. Crazy !!!

Here's the error message -

Any suggesions on how to fix this thing.

Cheers,
Pete

You might have removed something when you uninstalled 10. I'd suggest uninstalling 12 and reinstalling it.

Thanks David,

I did try that and still the same error. It's interesting that it still all works fine as long as I don't close the errow window.

Cheers,
Pete

I have the same problem with Sony Vegas Pro 12 with one of my editing computers, which I think is being caused by a "slightly" corrupt Windows 7 Pro OS, so I stay with Vegas Pro 11 on that computer. ( eventually I will wipe the main HD and re-install everything including Vegas Pro 12 )

My other computer ( almost identical hardware ) also running Windows 7 Pro OS has no problems with Vegas Pro 12.

Here's another piece of the puzzle. I uninstalled one of the Mercalli demo's I had on my machine. If I wait long enough before closing or sending the error report to Sony it pops up the Mercalli20support.dll not found error.

I'm guessing that MS12 is looking for that plug-in and the reason it is crashing. Any idea how to get it to stop looking for a plug-in that is no longer available and or needed?
