Movie Poster

Here's an early poster for a movie that we're currently filming. It doesn't really say much about the movie, but how does it look?

Thanks.

I really like the consistency, but don't really care for the effects you did on the subjects themselves. The posterized, smooth type look. I think it would look better w/ sharper subjects. Good job though, better than most. Is it a comedy? That's kinda what the poster suggests. If it isn't a comedy, I'd probably make some changes.

Not trying to be malicious/unkind/etc., but my first impression from the visuals had me thinking American Idol winner flanked by losing competitors. The lack of a tagline, or any tell-tale signs from the pics, had me only slightly interested to know what this movie could be about.

btw, I'm only critiquing the poster and not the movie (of which, I know nothing about). Mainly, 'cuz the poster didn't tell me much.

I should run this through the dialectizer. D-Boz, help a brother out.

I think it looks great if your going for the look that I hate.

The overly airbrushed, too clean, almost fake type of look.

That's not meant as a negative/tear it down kind of response either... Some companies will pay big bucks for that look.

Looks really good. The airbrush is a bit much (the collar shadow), but overall it's a nice start. Good luck!

Looks like a strange "Sims" game add-on pack. Also I don't like the extra space after the "K" in "FLASHBACK ".

I would also suggest take out those effects on your characters (unless they look like that in the movie) and add some kind of tag line to the poster.

My 2 cents.

This might sound strange, but to me it looks more like a professional parody of a poster than an actual original movie poster.

I'm not sure what kind of message you want the poster to convey. Perhaps you could tell us a little about the movie.

haha ... take it easy guys :)

first off congrats on getting your movie made and puttinbg together these promo items!

Having said that here are my three CONSTRUCTIVE criticisms.
1)agree with the airbrushed look not working, particlularly on the chick. I really did think she was a CGI at first. Do you not have clean images of them to use? If you do, cleaner would be better.
2) I agree that it needs a good slug line
3) that guy with the mask is pretty mysterious, can he be featured more? perhaps having the mask big as a sort of watermarked background? or behind or near the lead? ... something

Good first draft, look forward to seeing phase two :)

Thanks for all the comments everyone.

Well, first off, I want to let you all know that we're trying to get a unique look for this movie. Something not comonly, or even better, never before used in a full length feature.

It's entirely shot on blue screen with virtual sets and takes place 1000 years in the future.

YES, it is most deffinetely a comedy! The airbrushing may be a little extreme, but I was testing it out to give it a look that was very sureal, like a living painting almost. We're still testing. The airbrushing won't be in the actual movie, I just really wanted to try an interesting look with the poster.

We don't have a tagline... there was an old one "A movie made just in time" but we need a better one.

In a way, it IS a parody of professional movie posters. This movie takes place on a movie studio backlot of the future. There will be some parody in it, though not like scary movie, more like references or jokes on famous titles.

So to everyone who thought it looked CG... It's really basically a CG movie with live action actors. We want the whole movie to look like that. A bright, vibrant, surreal stylized world.

Also, that guy in the mask is a Janitor Robot. There are thousands of them on the studio lot. That one in particular is a main character.

Wow, this is getting long. I guess it's really hard to describe the world of Flashback simply.

Basically, it's EVERYTHING we (the film makers) have EVER wanted to see in a movie. It's got a solid story but full of comedy, a love story, but not too much, a time machine, a crazy hobo, a villian, a hero, a dinosaur... it's just something you'll have to SEE to get!

But for now our website is
