movie-look with dvx movies

i'm fairly new...

in movies, the colors look surreal, the skins on characters looks surreal. when you film something in real life with even a great camera like the dvx, the colors obviously do not look like those in a movie. this is something i want to achieve, which i've learnt is through color correction. i have premiere.

my question is, is there a general setting or color effect used to achieve a movie-like look in post-production apps like premiere?

thanks

I think you are more or les thinking of specific targeting of highs, mids, or lows of your picture. I use FCP4's color correction tools, I think it is just a matter of playing around and learning how to use your color correction tools to get what look you want, instead of a default setting

But if you are asking for presets, then look into magic-bullet packages or other "film" specific filter packages for your program.

Hi I work with Vegas 5, and i have the magic bullet plugin for vegas ( the premiere plugin is avaible too).
I have seen that the "warmish" setting of MB makes a great difference. the blacks are more solid and the video looks like a film, but this is not aplicable for all videos. The color correction is easy changes the color in your videos but if you go too far your video looks more irreal .
