MOV to FLV

Kinda unimaginative post here Doc, 1.5 out of ten.....

You've done better.
A little revenge????? LOL! I have a clip I want converted to .flv for the website. Don't have Flash for Mac.

Enjoy the feeling of "getting me". LOL! Bet you've been waiting for this opportunity.

But seriously....Anyone have Flash? Anyone in the So Cal area, I will trade rental for conversion.

It's a pretty painless process for me if you want it done, I don't mind doing it for free since I have nothing better to do. H264 or VP6?

Is the clip small enough to be placed on Sendspace? Megaupload? If not, I can give you access to an FTP for uploading. PM me with links

RX782, what program do you use for this? Is it a dual pass program?

doc, why not use Vimeo and then link it?

For VP6, the choices are limited to a few proprietary programs (Squeeze, Cleaner, Adobe's etc), so I use Media Encoder from the CS4 suite for that... Though that's essentially no longer used.

For H264, I usually use x264 with custom settings in CRF mode or two-pass if a specific filesize is desired, with Nero AAC for audio. Muxing is done via MP4Box seeing as how F4V files are simply modified MP4 files. This typically works with most flash players (Youtube re-encodes anyway, and JWPlayer accepts renamed MP4s); however, just incase, I can just encode straight out Media Encoder (which uses Mainconcept H264... A much less efficient version of the codec) if this ever becomes a problem.

I do all filtering and processing via AVISynth if necessary. Never trust built in resizers (especially Adobe's).

Just as an example, all the videos on my site have been encoded in x264, http://douglasguerra.com/videos/Reel2010.html might illustrate compatibility on your end if you're curious.

This is not a streaming server, so don't expect an immediate load, but it should playback. I can encode the streams at any H264 level you wish, generally speaking, I hover around ipod compatibility - Main Profile, Level 3.1.

I'm doing this for free now, though don't be fooled, I definitely intend on turning this into a service.
