I've been using a "Gini Rig" for a couple months now and love it but the one drawback is the terrible mounting screw that comes with it...I have trouble getting it locked down. I'll try to articulate what I'm looking for and hopefully someone has some sort of idea:
The baseplate has a threaded hole, so you need to screw the mounting screw through it. What I'm looking for is a screw with a couple threads at the top to hook to the camera, then smooth to go through the baseplate, then more threads to allow for a tightening mechanism to be placed under the plate, like a ring with threads. I just need to get my camera tighter on the baseplate, and a quick release isn't an option.
Am I way off base? Is there an easier way I could be going about this?
