Mounting Chrosziel gear to dvx focus ring

ok i have my follow focus on the way and the chrosziel gear that goes around the dvx's rubbery focus ring arrived and i tried to put it on...

HELP!

it doesn't have just one way it fits.

no matter what way i tried to mount it the damn thing made the regular moving of the built in camera focus ring damn difficult.

i know the century optics makes a ring and i am a HUGE fan of theirs (especially their un-anamorphicizing eyepiece) but i wanted to stick with the chrosziel because i figured having all chrosziel stuff vs. mixing chrosziel and other brands might be safer and fit together better?

if someone could please give me some specific tips on how to mount the ring i would really appreciate it.

one thing about the chrosziel stuff (matte box and now focus ring, ZERO instructions) there are more instructions on a match book or on a toothpick!

I've dealt with buying the Chrosziel gear... crazy Germans ;)

I did buy the Century ring from the beginning though ... so no tips on the chrosziel.. sorry!

i wanted to buy the century it looked cooler but it was twice as much but mainly the chrosziel seemed "safer" because everything else is chrosziel so i thought i would stick with their stuff.

thanks for the picture but now i'm a bit more confused!

what is that white band on the other side of the geared ring?

i don't have that!

and whats the little red thing sticking up?

thank you SO MUCH to the person who mentioned the set screws.

they are so miniscule that i didn't worry about them and put it over them without a second thought.

but by loosening them and putting it back on it went on a little bit smoother but more importantly more evenly!

it works great now.

Matthew-

sidenote: on that century pic, the little red thing is the switch to change from macro focusing (free spin) to hard stops
