Mounting accessories

I need suggestions on how to mount both an on-camera light and an on-camera mic. Yeah, I know that's not the the right way to do lighting or audio, but I'm a one-man show capturing talking-head footage at an upcoming convention.

My budget is extremely low (I'm not being paid for this gig -- it's a learning experience for me) and I still have to buy the mic and light. I've got approx. $600 I can budget to light, mic, and mic mounts.

I'm thinking I'll go with the Oktava MK012 with the hypercardioid cartridge and high wind muff. Not sure about the mount -- I'll probably go with some $50 mount I find at B&H. I'm open to suggestions on the mount too. And I'm thinking I'll use the VidLed light -- it is in my budget while most lighting solutions alone would blow my budget with nothing left for the mic!

None of this is perfect or really high-end, but for me it is a big step in the right direction.

However I'm not sure how I can get both the light and mic mounted. Any suggestions?

rycote has a hot shoe extension or you can buy this http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=133276&is=REG&addedTroughType=search and what i did was cut the bottom off to where all i had was the straight bar with the 2 shoes at the top and at the bottom drilled 2 holes to match up with mic holder on the cam and instead of using the orginal mic holder that cames with the cam i used that instead or you could buy this http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=114982&is=REG&addedTroughType=search

Looked at it. It is too short (4") to hold a VidLed (5.6" wide) plus a mic.

Intesteting suggestion.

Just the thing I was looking for. I was sure I'd been all through that part of the B&H site but somehow missed that bracket and at least one other I just found.

I can only assume I looked early in the morning before the coffee kicked in. I guess that I still had too much blood in my caffeine stream!

Thanks.

Does anyone want to steer me towards a different light or mic? I was told that if I want to get into this VidLed production run in time I'd have to order today.

I just noticed that the DVX100 battery adaptor for the VidLed is out of stock and won't be available until November. That eliminates choosing this product for me.

I guess I'll have to reach a little deeper (i.e. cut something else out of my equipment budget) and buy the Varizoom S2010 http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=447042&is=REG&addedTroughType=categoryNavigation

Yes, that is indeed the case: we're redesigning them.
They'll be black from now on, and have two internal 1/4" threads, so that they can be bolted onto the VIDLED light, or onto other things.
We should have the new design in stock by early November.
