i work in the city but live in jersey, gonna help a lot on set when i can tether with 4g when internet isn't an option on site. evo is gonna rock.

Soooo close. Well, hopefully they got the spec wrong.

And, yeah, I don't expect any actual quality out of the phone, but ... just like a DSLR, if you want to put a lot of work into it, I bet you could get something pretty good looking. The Nokia N8 demo footage looked pretty good for cell phone footage.

But, yeah, if it's 20fps, that's a bit silly. Certainly less appealing.

Not where I originally saw it but it will do. The spec could be wrong... if it's correct there's the Nokia n8 in the fall... a 720p 24fps camera would be cool.
 
Just got the evo this weekend. it is retarded awesome... the video sucks though, don't let anybody convince you other wise. 20 fps, noisy even in broad daylight. the compression to mpeg 4, 3ps codec is really intense and really makes it only slightly better than your average cell phone video. the Nokia has a lot better looking video. But basically the phone is like a HTC desire or incredible on steroids. Huge lush screen, front camera, super fast. I'm play 720p music videos on it and it looks SO good. Def makes me happy :)
 
Rats on the video. Was looking forward to that, but ... sounds like it's no good. Is it really 20fps? Some people were reporting 24 and 25. Can you post a raw video clip of a few seconds?
