Motorized Tripod Head ?

Hi,

Is there such a thing as a motorized tripod head.

I'd like to take very slow long pans over a couple of minutes. How can I get the pan even and smooth over a couple of minutes?

Thanks!

Try Bescor.com. Their website's not that pretty, but I know they have one. And I believe, if you search here, you'll find a review on it. I think it's called a Motorized Pan/Tilt Head.

If you want to save some cash you might want to test your skills with a gear head.
I've done some really long, really nice pans and tilts with it. I don't know about 2min., but I think it could be done and you would feel like a bad ass when you were finished.
With that said, I'd love to spend some time with a motorized head and see what could be done with some complicated green screen composite shots.

Thanks for planting the bug in my head.

I couldn't even get the %^$#! casing open on it, so no hacking for me. There is a company in England (?) that did some mods on it, though. It's somewhere in the Motorized Pan/Tilt thread.

You can goto blueskyfootage.com a highly respect stock company using motorized dollies and heads to get timelapse with movement very cool.
