Motivation Tips?

How long have you been writing this script? How many pages do you have? Do you know the story or are you making it up as you go along?

I think knowing your story front to back is really critical before you even think about writing anything. If you don't have that down you can't really have any direction or focus to your writing. Then again M. Night Shyamalan claims that he didn't know the doctor was dead until draft five or something, I don't believe it but I suppose it's possible.

If you know your story you should be able to create at least a primitive list of scenes. Once you have that my advice would be to understand the purpose of every scene and then just write something up for each one totally unedited. Most of it will be garbage but some of it will be pretty good and it will most likely get you thinking about where it's all going at a lower level and then you can start making meaningful adjustments.

I don't think good writing is something you can (or should) rush.

Yeah in the very beginning, when I was first jotting down ideas, the main storyline was a lot different then what it is now. Partly because of my criticism for some things. However, the main storyline that I have now is something I am happy with. There is a small sub-plot that I am not completely sure about, but as far as the main story goes, Ive got everything figured out from beginning to end, so I'm just keeping things simple.

Besides the pages and pages of random notes I have written, I never got that far in the actual script (mainly because of my unnecessary criticisms for somethings), although I wasn't really going in order in the beginning either. Opening scene here, end scene there, an awesome scene there, type of thing.
