MotionBend: Video Stabilizer and Motion Editor

Hi, I would like to introduce MotionBend, a video stabilizer and motion editor. This means that not only can you stabilize video but you control which frames are stabilized and the type of camera motion you want. For example, you can set one section of a clip to hold still while other sections have smooth motion. Or perhaps you notice that when you panned your camera motion was uneven and you want to smooth it out.

MotionBend is easy to use, the default settings are effective at stabilizing clips in most cases and you can save all your settings in a project in case you want to revisit them. There is a batch processor so that you can stabilize multiple clips or generate projects for them. Apple ProRes is supported if you have the codec, so you can generate output for editing and maintain quality.

At the moment we are focused on making MotionBend the best that we can.

In the future we will release a Windows version but there is nothing to announce about it yet.
 
When would I use MotionBend over the Warp Stabilizer in After Effects? The result videos on your website look "wobbly" to me.
 
  1. Warp Stabilizer and MotionBend use different techniques so for some situations MotionBend will give a better result and vice-versa.
  2. MotionBend gives you fine control over the motion of the camera and the overall look of the output.
  3. MotionBend is much cheaper than an NLE.
  4. We continue to improve our method. We hope to make a point release update within the next month.
 
We just released MotionBend version 1.3, almost everything about it is improved. It's now a 64 bit application and designed to work with Mountain Lion.

In my last post I mentioned a point release coming up, we did in fact make it within a month and we have made in total 7 updates since my last post.
