Motion Tracking Question

bad news. I cannot move the mask's position, because it doesn't have position value. what should I do if I want to move the mask, and not the pic!

Thanks surf for bringing that up because I knew I wasn't totally losing my mind. I knew I couldn't move the mask. Help somebody!!

THe mask does have a position value, and all you need do is keyframe it like any other effect, movement.

Create the mask on the layer you want. Open the mask in the timeline by twirling down the small arrow under the layer. Go to the beggining of the timeline. Find the mask you have created and keyframe Mask Shape. THis is done by clicking the small "Stopwatch" looking button to the left of the Mask Position text.

That will keyframe your mask in it's starting position. Then, scroll through your clip, changing the mask shape by choosing either the entire mask (by clicking on the mask layer in you copmposition) or by choosing individual points that create it (by clicking directly on the point/points themselves. Then simply move them over time, and AE will create the tween automatically. You can use Keyframe assistant with Easy Ease if you want for a smoother transition between keyframes.
