Motion reel

enjoyed your effects reel. anyway of integrating footage (actual people) with your effects? this may add another level to your reel.

My general question is does a reel need to have a story? or put it this way will an agent or high end producer say "i'm looking for a story in this reel"

had a small debate on this today. my two cents are that the story is a visual one and not necessary a progressive plot where one finds links from clip to clip. for me the relationship btween images and clips come together with the music and the varying tempo of the reel.

A reel is selling your brush strokes sought of speak. It's selling the various creative sides of your mind -- and not following a story (act 1 - 2 - 3)

bookending your reel with the same piece didn't work for me... its the least strong
piece on the reel and we say it twice.. add in the contact info at the tail and it
actually weakens the other work. We spend more time watching your intro/contact
info than client oriented work.

I also echo NYC's comment about some integrated footage. It'd add a dimension
to your portfolio.
