Motion/FCP - Scratches/Dust/etc

I am looking for some tips/plugins/ideas on how to create scratches/dust/etc in Final Cut Pro or Motion. I have searched google and all I basically get is removal of such items, but I am looking to add them. I have seen a few stock footage items (clutter) and some plugins for adobe after effects, but literally nothing for FCP/motion.

Any help would be appreciated. I am not looking to go full out "grindhouse" style, but I am looking to add a small amount here and there, just for effect.

Thanks in advance!

I'm not currently at a machine with the filters installed, so can't confirm this, but the Nattress filters ought to have something like that. You can check them out and get them at:

Nattress.com

Good luck.

cheers.

Magic Bullet editors is the best option i know of. includes the looksuite for film-like color effects and misfire suite which includes grain,scratches,dust,etc....lots of gunk junk.

Also artbeats sells stock footage of scratches and film artifacts scanned from actual film sources that work well.

You can also add these when you export from FCP. Hit the options button next to the file type dropdown and you'll see "filters"; there is a grain/scratches filter in there. The main problem is that you don't have control over where they show up in the footage, but still, it may work for you.

Having worked with both Magic Bullet and Nattress Filters, I found the Nattress filters offered more and worked with much shorter render times.
