Motion Control

How much do motion control rigs typically rent for?

I'm not talking about like doing the Ken Burns effect, but the larger rig for recreating the same move repeatedly??

. : CUTTER : .

$2500 a day, plus the two operators , hotel, and meals, travel time,gasoline.. good luck.

The cost? Be afraid... be very afraid.

If you can afford them, call the fine boys at CameraControl--- www.cameracontrol.com. They do great work! And they can send you a free DVD of their work with a really great behind-the-scenes HOW TO of motion control. Their rig is called MILO, and MILO is one sexy fu*$ing beast!

BUT------ if you can write your project around some simple 'zoom-out only' motion control tricks, you could do something like I did for Lind-Waldock a couple years ago--- you can see an example at my website---

Go to the 'Work' section, and click on the Lind-Waldock spot. :2vrolijk_08:

I'm a Milo fan personally... and word to the wise, if you're gonna do it, look into
having the shot previs'd by someone that knows what they are doing.

Hehe... we just did a shot that had moco, a toddler and a dog in the scene... talk
about a difficult shoot :)
