Motion Capture Character?

I want to make a motion capture type character where an actor will play out the scene and then whatever the actor does the character will do. take a look at this youtube video to see what I want to do exactly and go to 00:31 in the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuRPNs3jTJ8

The video I want to make would just be the character so I am wondering if there is some type of program where you can just stand in front of the camera and it will create a motion capture character that moves how ever you move?

there are tons of program to do that, but most of them rely on hardware and it is usually expensive.
there is one that use a set of camera (up to six) and can do it in realtime. It can even use a Kinect camera
(the camera coming the game console).

The problem with most motion capture apps is they just give you a list of point you need
to inject in a CG application (like Poser or 3DSmax), and even there, you still need to build
the puppet with all the joints and the logic (reverse kinetics) so when you lift hands, the arms do not detach from the shoulders !)
another way is to do the reverse, create a CG character and animate.
There is one that is great called ToonMX. You can animate in realtime even transform
mic audio input into mouth animation. animation is very simple with a graphic tablet.
Toonmx works as demo, so you can capture the output, the only problem is to find/build the puppet
it is exactly what you need but it is pretty expensive (last time i asked it was around $10.000).
I know there are some guy in USA representing
this french product, so possibly they could do the job for you by just renting their services.

this is really the ultimate tool, i have never seen anything closer to perfection than this one.

does a software exist where you can take an audio file of a person talking and then use a picture of a character and then it will animate the mouth so it looks like its talking? i guess kind of like those jib jab animations but some kind of software that simplifies it.

There was another similar query here recently. Crazy Talk http://www.reallusion.com/crazytalk/ can animate any still picture into a talking head, and works well. But if you'll then want to attach the animated talking head to a moving body animated elsewhere, that will require some sort of separate tracking - either automated or at worst done frame by frame in your NLE.

yes toonmx takes a microphone input and translate in mounth animation in real time.
there are many plugins making that easy , but few in realtime.
As i said, the most difficult thing is to find an one-in -all program.
iClone is also great at creating animated avatar
3DSmx has tons of plugin to do everything.
I asked for ToonMX prices, they go lower , $4000 for all the pack.
it is still expensive, if you cannot justify ROI on it.
